Power steering switch to non power
I am pondering switching from power steering to non power. I am running a MOROSO electric pump and want to simplify the set up. I have not seen a pully set up to run power steering and a alternator down low on the motor and just from the crank pulley. Please give me some insight on this as to pros and cons. Also where can i get a gear box without power?? Thanks

well, if you are looking for a really nice steering gear, Flaming River has got some outstanding set-ups. They even have an all-aluminum gear box, simply awesome!
Of course, some mods would have to happen, a different pitman arm would be used and the mounting holes changed most likely. either way, their system is sweet and also saves alot of weight from the front end. www.flamingriver.com good luck! |

PS
Before you switch I think you better drive a non-power truck. They steer fairly easy, but the gear ratios are different. In other words, more turns lock to lock. You can use a 4x4 PS pump which mounts low on the block with a bracket arm that goes to the motor mount and runs off the crank pulley.
