wheel size opinions!!!! For my OverKill project please - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

Thanks you guys for your help and approval of my choice of wheel , the AR polished Torq Lites.

So here are the two options:

1) 18x8 on all four corners

2) 18x7 in the front & 18x8 in the back

Love to hear what you guys think...and then I will order them!

Well, considering that you are putting a 496 BB in there, I don't think you are going to be able to put enough tire on an 8 inch rim. I've got 285 tires and a very warm 350 with a posi and I can "rip em" most of the way through 2nd gear. I think you will be just "ice skating" everywhere with the tires you can fit on a 8 inch rim. Very nice wheel choice however.

I say 18 x 8 then you can rotate the tires. I didn't care about that kind of thing before, but the tighter bucks get the more important it becomes. And if you ever sell them it would be easier to do so. JMHO.

Alex I like 7 and 10 but that's not a choice

My disc conversion pushed my 8" wheels out so I wish I had 7's or a narrower tire.

Maybe 18x10 On The Back And 18x8 On The Front

Agree!!! I just can't find a matching cool looking 18x10 and 18x8 rim in my price range????

Call American Racing. They may be able to make a custom pair of those at 10" for you. I am sure you aren't the first person with that problem.
