"new" exhaust on the 69

About a week ago, I salvaged a used set of 50's flows from the junk pile down at the muff shop,& stuck em on the 69(a little paint 1st). Yesterday, she went down to the shop, & my youngest (15 yr old kid) gave me a hand setting up the tailpipes(it was a fun time!).....altho, the kid did not like hot sparks! the system runs 2 1/2 " pipe from the back of the Hooker comps, H pipe(2 1/4"), & the flows are hung about 1 ft or so behind the cab. the tail pipes are also 2 1/2", & wrap up over the axle, around the fuel cell, & through the back bumper......man does that sound nice doing a little a little math, that old booger has about 27-28ft of ex pipe....not including the muffs....hope that 14 guage pipe dont add too much weight the wifey even commented on how nice the old truck sounded......nice & mellow, she said(till i winged the throttle a couple times ) i guess, i will have to shift around 2500, if I dont want the POPO writing tickets! crazyL

about the same time I put some temporary pipes on mine. Hedmans from KurtL, a pair of 12" glasspack & 2 1/2" pipes with a 45 bringing them out just in front of tires. it sounds scary when I get on it. 3000 rpms under hard accell will make for a un-obstructed entrance into an intersection! I think I will have to eventually do something different just to keep officer Friendly off my ass.

one advantage of having it come out in front of the tires is ppl tend to stay out of my blind spot.

LOL thats very true. Flowtech headers, 2.5 inch and 12 in glass packs thats sidepiped. Been lucky so far never had a cop even look at me.... but thats at idle or going through town in 4th gear. Not 5 grand in 3rd... thats LOUD! I think the whole old truck thing just makes the cops up here think oh old truck nothing to worry about, but then again the cops up here don't know anything about cars.
