Yeah Uncle, it ran and drove when I brought it home.
I removed the old tank and it needs a fuel pump.
With those replaced, it will fire up.

Its really some of the sheetmetal thats bad.The frame has some surface rust but i think it will clean up good.

And that was the reason i bought it.
It had all those options and they were all still there.Black buckets are almost perfect.

Re: 1971 c30 35k miles

Also the bed itself is very rusty. Most of the toolboxes are far gone as well.
The box behind the cab is fixable.

Yeah,i have been tossing that idea around.I have an extra fleetside bed and could use the Step R fenders to make a nice dually bed.Or get another section of a fleetside bed and make a long pickup.?
I really just dont wont to cut/rip this truck apart.
It is rusty but it is all there.
And i have 2 projects already.!

Thanks Midnite.
But you really need the bedsides more than me.
(lowered the price on them too).

Re: 1971 c30 35k miles

That was a nice truck new and a little different than it shows today.
Where did you get the 14k GVW from? In reading the SPID it looks to be a 10K GVW as manufactured. The H20 on the SPID is for a 4.57 ratio axle in place of the stock 5.14 gears with the 350/CR 4-speed/dual wheels. The fact that is 8-lug and has a G86 NoSpin further supports it being/had a H072 rear axle. All said an done looks like you have a desirable axle vs the heavier H0110 the 14K trucks (H22) had. Interesting to note it also had the deluxe two-tone style paint and moldings added vs the D89 pinstripe.

Hi Tim.

Your are spot on.
I looked on the vin tag awhile back and quoted the "maximum capability" of 14k instead of the GVW.
It is indeed 10k GVW.I had them confused.

Thanks for sharing your knowledge on this.

Re: 1971 c30 35k miles

No problem I feel its easier to make a sell, keep or part decision when you know what you have. Breaking down the numbers is easy for me and a way to help the board. That NoSpin has me drooling 2200 miles away.

The cab marker lights appear correct but don't see these listed on the SPID....part of another option group that is listed?

Re: 1971 c30 35k miles

Thought you were out taking pictures for me?
Anyway the R05 Dual Rear wheel option includes the marker lamps so they would not be listed on the SPID.
