How much fluid goes in this rearend?

Thumbs up filler up......

buy two 1 quart bottle's.....you will need 1 1/2......
fill till it run's out the fill hole on the side......squrt a little more in a jam the plug in.....your all set......do this on level ground.......

the only problem with that is this cover has no fill plug and the rearend is out of the truck. So you say 1 1/2 huh. I forgot to mention that this is a 72 12 bolt, if that makes any difference.

I thought I would add that the reason I am doing this is because Tx Firefighter and I are swapping rearends and I want to make sure everything is square so all he has to do is bolt it in and forget about it. I am also changing the shooes and cleaning everything up for him. Just wanna make sure noone feels slighted any, and do a good turn. Thanks for the info Rage'n, just wanted to let you know how inportant it is for me to get this part right. I would feel like a$$ if something went wrong down the road you know.

the fill plug is on the side of the case....just a round little plug removed with a 3/8 drive extenstion......not no the rear cover.......

No crap? I never even looked over there. I have only seen the plugs on the covers. Good to know. I guess it shows how many times I have messed with the rearends in these things.
