Re: Bagged Guys did y'all have to notch cab?

I'm not 4 link, mines ladder bar with a 2" notch. When it is sitting on the bump stops, I've about 1 1/2' clearance between the cab and the drive shaft and my cab mounts need to be replaced which might give me another little bit! But I've a 9" and I don't know if the drive shaft might be higher in Chevy rear in relation to the axle center line.

i had to notch my cab about 2 inches.. the back part hangs down so you can cut that without cutting into the support brace under

Dino's 78 lays frame hard with NO cutting to the cab. You will have to notch the crossmember behind the cab. It's running a Dropmember and a KP six-link.

With out 73-87 4 link kit you get the new driveline crossmember notch included. None of out customers have had to notch the cab while running a one piece driveline. The Porterbuilt truck Nathan was refering to has our complete rear suspension kit installed on it, and it lays hard on 22's.

On this truck, the drive line notch was welded and smoothed in.

This truck has the notch simply bolted in as the kit was designed with the no fabrication .

There's plenty of room between the cab and driveline.

The back of the 67-72 cabs are totally different from the 73-87 trucks. On the early trucks the frame kicks up right behind the cab, and the cab is lower on the chassis as well. The later (73-87) have those body mounts that really space the cab up over the frame, and they don't have that large pinch that hangs down either. ..... Lucky dogs .

Re: Bagged Guys did y'all have to notch cab?

As Clint mentioned, Dino's 78 does have a one-piece drive-shaft. The Dropmember moves the motor and trans up a bit, so we had to make our own notch for the drive-shaft in the crossmember behind the cab... to make a little more room! Still no cab cutting!

Do y'all sell the drive line crossmember seperate? If y'all do how much would it cost?

Re: Bagged Guys did y'all have to notch cab?

I had to cut a little bit out of my floor (right after the transmission) under the seat for the drive shaft to clear. motor in stock location.

That truck belongs to my buddy Jim Cunningham out here in Cali. We're hoping to finish it up soon and get it driving to the shows over the next few months. He recently moved and we have to get the shop back in order and start making some noise.
