Its ALIVE!

VIDEO ADDED! We fired up the 402 last night for the first time since the rebuild (about a year ago). No fuel line from the pump to the carb yet so it was the old pour the gas in the carb trick, fired right up! Really loud with open headers but very cool to finally hear it run. Huge weight off my chest! Shouldn't be too long now until I finish this build up, then its time to show this thing off....WOOOHOOO!
Sorry but I was too busy to take pics or video so here are some teaser shots, the front end pic is from Monday and the engine pic is from a couple weeks ago.

Thanks. Since this is my first shot at restoring anything I have been real picky about the quality of all the parts and pieces I used, lots of NOS and high end OEM. Should be a pretty special truck when its finished being a factory Big Block A/C unit. This forum made it a lot easier than it could have been. Thanks to all who have helped so far.

Re: Its ALIVE!

Thanks Wes, assemble everything lose then tighten it all up. I got this cypress and SS goodies from Bedwoodandparts.com, real nice stuff.

Thanks Bruceman, I'll be heading your way for some beach photos when I'm done. Maybe we could hookup with the Bigsnookmaster and do some cruzing.

What headers are you running on that 402? Would you be as so kind as to post up some pictures of them from the side? I would like to see what kind of clearance you have.

Hooker long tube truck headers, plenty of clearance. I'll post up some pics for you in a day or two.

I've been working on this one for about 18 months. I have a full time job and a large local family so only get to work on it a couple hours a day after work and on the weekends, pending family activities etc.
My dad and I also restored my 71 Serro Scotty Sportsman camper that I will be pulling behind my 70 GMC (painted to match the truck). Throw in my 67 slant back hauler and my brother's 70 BB Sierra Grande and you could say my plate is full.
