Whats this?

Putting the truck back together and cant remember where this goes ?? I think the heater which is why I cant figure it out. The heater isnt going back in

My guess would be an antenna cable for a radio.

me too, thinking it's a radio antenna coax cable. broken by the look of it. possibly just scrap.

Yup. The the funny looking hardware on the end gets pulled up tight under the fender by the antenna nut to give a good ground.

That's a strap to hold the muffler up so it doesn't drag on the ground!!!!

That antenna cable escaped the trash barrel until to day with effective hiding techniques.

71 GMC 2500 that is getting a Cad 500 transplant.
77 C 30 dualie, 454, 4 speed with a 10 foot flatbed and hoist. It does the heavy work and hauls the projects around.

That still might work if you can find the mast and the fittings that go on top of the cowl/fender.
There should be a rubber base gasket, plastic piece that looks like half of a ball with an elongated hole in it, a chrome piece that goes over that, a chrome nut that screws on the piece you showed and then the antenna mast.

I'd put it all back together in one unit and if it didn't go back on the truck there is always some rig that will need an antenna at some time. Or put it in the 2.00 box for the swap meet.
