Deluxe heater control

HI again! my poor old '59 came with the factory heater, but not the Deluxe heater control and right now it just has the plate over the Deluxe spot. I will be ordering AC and the man I'm buying it from says I need to make a decision of whether or not I'll be getting a Deluxe control assembly. I've just been looking for one on ebay and elsewhere, but do they exist "used" or do I just have to bite the bullet and purchase a new one?

ps; I will be welding in a new radio panel~

Gosh that looks horrible! : (

Re: Deluxe heater control

I don't know of anyone repoping them except Vintage Air to use with their systems. The knobs and arms that break are readily available.

I know to make the stock one work with their ac you change out the fan speed switch with VA's and the cable end connectors.

Re: Deluxe heater control

I can find the control, just didn't want to pay 160-180 for it~ so I'm kind of shopping for a used one.

I don't think I need to replace the entire dash do I? I was going to buy the radio repair panel for about 30bucks and painstakingly cut the old one out and weld the new one it and paint the entire cab interior a better color ; )

Re: Deluxe heater control

If you have the time to watch and wait you can find them on ebay. Then you may have to buy new parts like arms or knobs maybe even a face plate to make them nice.

Re: Deluxe heater control

Well I'll be darned! I looked all over on Ebay! I have plenty of time, that's for sure! So a new one is about 170.oo and up; it'd be worth waiting! faceplates are about 40ish and another few dollars for the lense, and lets not forget s/h! I'll watch this one~ new one may be just the way to go.
Thank you!
