What caster/camber gauge is good?
Since I am getting started with suspension work, I am also planning to start doing my own alignments. For one, i hate paying 75-100 bucks a pop for an alignment, and for two, I have yet to find a shop around here that actually knows what they are doing.
What I would like to know is what caster/camber gauge do you guys recommend? I don't mind spending up to about $200 for one as long as I know it is a good one. I am looking for something that will work on my truck as well as passenger cars and other non-commercial vehicles. Also, bubble vs digital, what does everyone prefer? Any pointers are greatly appreciated! Posted via Mobile Device

Re: What caster/camber gauge is good?
I found this one on Jegs and it appears to be a pretty good one. Does anyone know if this is worth buying?

Re: What caster/camber gauge is good?
Thats a good guage, if you get it, add the thread adapter for the GM spindle. Also, check out the fasttrack guage, it may be easier depending on your wheel choice.

Since I've never used or even seen one of these caster/camber gauges in real life, can you explain what the benefit of thread adapter vs. magnetic would be?

Re: What caster/camber gauge is good?
Very nice! I like the looks of that one, especially since it can read a higher positive caster value that the one that I found. I think that's the one I am going to go with. I also now realize what the spindle adapter is for. I think what I will do is go ahead and order the gauge, magnetic adapter, case, and gm adapter and then down the road i can buy that quickset adapter that will let me put it on the outside of the rim.
Thanks for the help guys!

Re: What caster/camber gauge is good?
The mag base attatches to the snout face of the rotor. If you have the thread adapter, you can mount off the end of the spindle. This is a benefit during construction. And, it's cheap to add. Some wheels do not allow the mag base to fit up to the rotor. So, then the wheel mount looka good.
