What color does my truck look??
I have been researching the color of my '69 C20 and I don't think it is correct. I attached a picture of the truck and the options listed in the glove box. The factory color is listed as "536 White/Turquoise", but the truck looks like factory light green to me. I know the truck was painted once at some point in the past because I have the shop records from the original owner, but it doesn't specify what color it was repainted. Maybe it is just how it looks after being faded??

Re: What color does my truck look??
The outside color doesn't seem to match the inside of that glove box door. Back in the 80s and 90s teal was a popular color and, to me, the truck looks a bit teal in that pic.

Re: What color does my truck look??
kinda hard to tell with the sun shining off the paint the way it is on the truck - but it looks bone stock to me, I'd chalk that up to wear. Does the exterior look remotely close to the inside of the gb, I mean if you try to imagine how it's faded, etc? 69 turquoise is a GREAT color! Nice truck.

Re: What color does my truck look??
That is definitely not the light green. It's metallic, right? Looks like the factory turquoise to me.

Here is a 69 with original paint and then same paint code as your truck.

Re: What color does my truck look??
Thanks for all of the replies, I will get a little better picture in the morning of the truck in the garage to get a better representation of the color. I think fading is a factor in this, but I think when the truck was repainted it was painted with a lighter color. The paint that is peeling in the inside of the bed shows a little bit darker color underneath it.
Help me out here though, based on the paint color listed in the glove box, would the factory paint code be the 511 Turquoise Poly? 70cts posted an original chart of the colors here: http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=446859 Looking at that chart, the color still looks closer to light green than the turquoise poly. |

Re: What color does my truck look??
i never had a lot of luck making a digital camera reproduce the actual color of my truck unless they were white or black. the body colr does look different than the glove box. alot can happen to paint exposed to the elements.

Re: What color does my truck look??
511 is for solid color. GM assigns a different code for same color with 2-tone

Re: What color does my truck look??
It looks turquoise but I'm a little red-green color blind.
