Re: Check out this 71 SWB on Ebay

That body looks pretty straight...... for $24k, it better be!!

Honestly, is that truck or our trucks, worth that kind of money if properly restored?

I'd want to see something better than auto zone pre bent tail pipes on something like that. Oh yea and a cut and buff on the paint too. Other that that it's a pretty nice truck.

Agreed on the paint----its buffed enamel that should be wet sanded and buffed. For that kind of $$$ I call it poor paint.

(This 1971 Chevrolet Cheyenne 10 short bed is a recently restored example heavily equipped with factory options! Already refinished inside and out, the new high gloss red paint is sure to grab the attention of truck enthusiasts at the next show. Factory options include LS9 350ci V8, TH350 automatic transmission, power steering, power brakes, chrome rear bumper, Z84 Custom Sport Truck option, leaf spring suspension, front stabilizer, 12-bolt rear end with 4.11 rear axle ratio, factory oil pressure, temperature, and amp gauges, tinted glass, pushbutton AM radio, and more!)

Would you consider this a "heavily equipped" optioned truck?

Re: Check out this 71 SWB on Ebay

I think I seen this truck in person late summer last year. Didn't notice the crummy pipe job but for mid central US snow rust belt it's a nice truck in person. I don't think anything in their show room is under 12 grand.

Nice rig but 24K? Is it me or is the trim on the passenger bedside out of whack? If I was spending that kind of cheese I would also be looking for a truck with a detailed frame. But hey, if it was mine I'd shoot for the moon too!

Re: Check out this 71 SWB on Ebay

That is a lot of money for a incomplete restoration. I have originals in near condition and can't get even get close half what that auctions going for. Yes a truck or something is only worth what the market willing to bear. Or should I say what you'll let it go for in the moment of need.

Re: Check out this 71 SWB on Ebay

This wasn't a 4x4 right?

What is this then under the truck. Looks like a drive shaft going to the front.
Maybe the exshaut I don't know. You would think they would have done a complete under side job for the money they are asking!

I have a two peice drive shaft and mine doesn't look anything like this one.

Get out and drive the truck this summer and have some fun!
It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

OMG. That exhaust system is pretty, well, bad for that kind of money. That part in the pic behind the front wheel is not a driveshaft to the front end. It is the left side exhaust pipe hanging down that far. From behind it looks even worse. I see it as if they are letting something like this go then what lies under that shiney paint, ya know...and causes me to shy away from one that's already been "restored" by someone else.

For that kind of money I want to be able to eat off the frame, or at least have a decent powerder coat on it. And that exhaust has to go.

OMG Another (RESTORED) truck on Ebay...AT best this is a 10K truck and that is being generous! The trim is out of whack, exhaust looks like jimmy joe bob did it down by the crick, dented up tailgate, crappy wheel paint, not a professional restoration imo. cosmetic restoration only. Those are regular options for about 2 million trucks!

I love red but thats too much red for me. Body, wheels,Spray in liner. Why didn't they do the carpet, seat, dash and grille too. Did you notice the firewall and inner fender braces are not red. Looks to be cleaned up and repainted. Not a high dollar resto.

Re: Check out this 71 SWB on Ebay

I donīt think I would be to proud of a truck that I bought done.
Mine just got through the german inspection after restoring everything accept the exhaust, wood bed and paint.
I am proud of the work I put into it and can say "I did all of it myself"

That truck looks nice but I would never buy it.

......Oh, the bed looks like crap and doesnīt match the rest of it.

For that kind of money, I'd want the deluxe marker lights to have all the trim on there.

I was thinking the same thing. As said to seller,"I`ll give ya $20,000 since I`d have to spend under $100 on marker lights.I like you,we seem to think alilke."

Or..."I`ll buy it right now.You do have pictures from before all this work and a list of repop parts, right?"

I always worry, when the small things are neglected... The bigger things probably have been too!

I really don't have room to talk, the prep work on my Blazer sucked, and the paint can't hide bad prep... But then I'm not asking $24k for it either...
