What size fusibl link is used from starter to alt. on a 85 k10?

Short answer is 10ga. Make sure when you replace it\them that you have eliminated the cause of the short\failure first, then solder the replacements(s) in. Also solder the eyelets to the link and using a good heat shrink, cover the solder joints. jim

1984 K20 350M engine with 465,000 miles. Well, it's finally done!! Almost 2 years of work, but it was really worth the effort. Little stuff left to do is mount winch, wet sand & buff out and build belly pan\running boards. Body work takes lots and LOTS of beer!!!! What is the amp ratting of the fusible link and what gauge wire is that line to the alt..

All of the wireing (red in color and attached to the alt or starter) under the hood is 10ga as are all of the fuse links.
