Re: pulley help

There is some adjustment on the power steering pump pully.
You need a tool to remove and install the pulley and it may not have been lined up when it was put on the shaft
There should be one of the groves on the C/shaft that will match the pump

Re: pulley help

A photo (s) of what you have for brackets and mounts would help us be able to offer some solutions.

As the guys said, short pump, long pump? Then which brackets does the pump have as there are about three different styles.

With a couple of them you may be able to put a spacer between the bracket and the block or head to move the pulley forward enough to line up.

Re: pulley help

Pic would help. When I was fabbing my mounts and had to change to a 3 groove pulley I got a pretty good education. You generally cannot mix 2 and 3 groove pulleys, the offsets are different and the diameters are different. I bought to independently before Kustombrad let me in on the secret and sold me a matched set. Long and short do not interchange. Some brackets mount off the front former engine mounts, some off the exhause bolt, some of a bracket on the water pump. Depending on where the alternator is the belts can be in different grooves. Show us what you have and we should be ablel to point you towards the right bracket.

Re: pulley help

Ok, have you got the bracket that hangs the pump from the boss on the water pump or do you have it mounted to the block/heads? you need the bracket that mounts it to the water pump with a long pump.
