Some of the GM trucks from Billetproof NW 2013

Jean and I jumped in the roadburner yesterday morning and made the 175 mile run over the pass to Centralia Wa for Billetproof NW.

Here are a few of the trucks and the primer and patina boys will probably feel like winners but there were some pretty decent trucks.

One way to redo a longbed

Not in a Chevy truck but a great way to do up a set of stock steel valve covers and have a great look to boot.

A bit newer but it is GM

It always seems that the butt that got in the way wasn't on a "Bettie"

48 Chev 3100 that will run a 292 Six.
71 GMC 2500 that is getting a Cad 500 transplant.
77 C 30 dualie, 454, 4 speed with a 10 foot flatbed and hoist. It does the heavy work and hauls the projects around.

Another square one

My personal favorite of all the rigs there. Chopped 41 Ford coupe that is real close to what I want to paint the 48 when I get that far. This was one sweet car all the way around.

Hopefully this one will show up in a much more finished state next year

It has great potential to be a nice traditional custom truck.

Another square one

I'm not sure what the plan was on this one but it's different for sure

Square with old paint

Not a GM but simple and pretty cool

This one had a late FI engine and the wheel selection tell me that there are 3K worth of Billet wheels and tires in the garage at home.

The same Forrester Green one as before from the other side. I'm pretty sure that this is the truck that convinced me to go with whitewalls on the 48 this time.

Noted Northwest Pinstriper and all around nice guy Bob Davidson working his craft on anything that held still.

The rest of my album is here with about 450 photos from the show.

Re: Some of the GM trucks from Billetproof NW 2013

The owner is a heck of a nice guy too. I got to visit with him for a few minutes when he was telling us that the riser tube to get the scoop up through the hood was a factory exhaust pipe bend for a semi.

It's a nice truck that looks great but isn't overloaded with high dollar stuff. Outside the engine the tires and the cover for the bed are probably the most expensive single cash outlay items on it.

Re: Some of the GM trucks from Billetproof NW 2013

We put 343.4 miles on the Cad Sunday Highsider and had a great trip. A quick breakfast stop on the way over and we stopped and bought fresh strawberries that the roadside guy ran out in the field and picked on the way home along with stopping at one of our favorite Pizza joints

For dinner an a Mac & Jack

And stopping to take a few sunset photos on the side of the road

All in all I think I took 600 photos Sunday.

Make sure you open the link to the album to see most of the rest of the vehicles that were there.

Re: Some of the GM trucks from Billetproof NW 2013

Do you know if that black AD with flared fenders had a Cadillac engine and running gear? It looks exactly like one that was on CL here not too long ago. I saw it at a show here in February. It's a long way from home if it's the same truck.

That white panel truck in the last pic is a VW Squareback. I like it.

I like all of the trucks pictured but the fleetside in the second pic is my favorite.

Re: Some of the GM trucks from Billetproof NW 2013

Not sure about that but it would be a good area to hide out in. when I was a kid the Centralia/ Chehalis area was most well know for being the home of the main state youth detention center/prison. They are both old towns with old brick buildings in the middle of logging and farming areas. I stopped at a mini mart for gas about 15 miles se of there on the way home and they had one of those jars that they sell trinkets or candy on the counter that held chain saw files and plug wrenches for chain saws rather than nail clippers. The area is full of car freaks of all description too. There were 500 cars even registered at the show and probably close to 5000 showed up for the cruise night although I haven't seen any numbers.
