Sounds like you used Acrylic paint. There was the paint (base), and the other two ingredients were the hardener and reducer. I painted my '86 Toyota with that stuff about 3 years ago, it came out really nice. It does not hold up to chips well at all, but my tires did stick out of the wheel wells. I'm going to paint my 67 (for now) with acrylic until I can afford base/clear. Truck looks great, gotta love them 67/68 clips.

Re: pics of my front clip swap!

Did you get the parts new or used? I can't find a grille section new anywhere.

Re: pics of my front clip swap!

As far as I know, about the only body parts not reproduced for these trucks are a steel cab (you can buy a fiberglass one) and a 67/68 grill. I got lucky in that mine was perfect. Decent used ones appear on the parts board every so often.

Re: pics of my front clip swap!

I'll have to keep an eye out. My rollpan got busted off the front and the lower section of the grille is banged up as well.

Re: pics of my front clip swap!

Now when someone asks what you are driving or what year is your truck, what is your answer?

I have a '69 Chevy with a '71 front clip (full disclosure in my signature). Most of the time I explain, othertimes I just say it is a '71 since that is what it looks like from the outside.
