Not sure it gets any better than your end result - a 1 ton'd K5 with a BBC!

Re: Some pics of my teardown/buildup

Yup, I am looking forward to a No Breaky trail rig status....some guys go 1Ton so they can run huge 42"+ tires....not me I am going for strangth and survival on the trail...I don't like trail repairs anymore...been there done that! So with 1ton axels and 36" swampers I sould be good to go...as long as that BBC doesn't get me into trouble with too much throttle...naaa no such thing...when in doubt! THROTTLE Out! hahhahaha

Re: Some pics of my teardown/buildup

You could still see problems with the stock d60 shafts. Do you shafts neck down or are they 1.5 all the way? You could also see issues with the 465/205 long adapter and drive sleeve.

Re: Some pics of my teardown/buildup

The D60's axels are stock for now but down the road I will be swapping them out for some aftermarket stuff, full circle clips, 35 spline outers..you get the picture.
Oh and after wheeling my K5 for 14years my Tranny and Xfercase have held up VERY well to my abuse...so if they ever decied to brake then well that is Ok cuz they done did good fer years
