I'll start with my find , I live in buchanan county VA. and wanted original tag's so I had to search and search to find the right one's , virginia added a T to truck license plates and in 67 you had to have a county plate (GOT IT WHEN YOU PAID YOUR COUNTY TAX) well I found it all , boy these county tag's are HARD TO FIND !!!!

I found these on ebay. 1968 Illinois plates. The "18" in each top corner is supposed to be 1818, the year Illinois became a state. So that makes these 150 year anniversary plates.

I'm in the process of restoring them now.

my father (70cst) found ohio truck plates from 1970 in mint condition for 50 bux he said the look new..but there supposed to be a christmas gift lol

I recent find is a USA-1 dealership tag from the now defunct Valley Chevrolet, where my 69 C/10 was bought new. Its newer than the truck, but I love it because the truck has history with the dealership. I gonna get some pics in front the old dealership building, even though its owned by another company now. Its one of the old classic 40's or 50's rounded front Chevrolet dealer buildings. Most of them have been torn down. I think it will be very cool to have the truck pictured at the dealership it came from.

This is mine. This was taken right after I got the tag back in the early 90's. I just got a new one so this one is going on front when I get the truck back. I have taken it and repainted it to match the truck color's.

Are you allowed to use vintage tags on trucks in NC? If so do you have to have a set or will just one be enough. Someone told me that they only have one in NC?

If you are asking me, NC only has one tag on back as does SC. I had backed that tag into my trailer hitch so many times it was messed up so I ordered a new one and they let me keep the old one.

I was asking because I have some 67-72 tags. Most are not in the best condition but some look like they just need the dust/dirt wiped off. I have no pairs. Just single tags.

I just finished painting it. It's not done but you get the idea. I have to touch it up and finish lettering it. Thinking about putting South Carolina across the top or bottom.
I needed to have some dents took out of it also. Most of them aren't noticable but a few of them are.

Here's mine, I had to get personalized plates with this number, then put the stickers on the old plates. Colorado won't re-issue plates unless they're '34 or older. Plate frame is a vintage dealer piece.

I just put 1970 SD plates on my GMC, but forgot pics. Best part is a one time fee of $10 and I'm registered for life, great deal if you ask me.

Nothing super special, just what most of us with old rides use in Mississippi. $25 for life is good though.
Top is the 70's and bottom is from the 69 parts truck.

up untill this year In virginia you could use vintage tags with a one time 10.00 fee. They just changed it,, I think it went up to 50.00 and now you have to prove that it can pass a safty inspection

are there any boardmembers that Live in NC and doesn't have a vintage year tag? I have some that could just use a cleaning to get the dust and dirt off, and some others that need to be sandblasted and repainted. I don't need them just shoot me a pm.

I had one that said WYF BTR till the state revoked it. My current plates say SGNL 56, Buckeye State Sheriff's Code for stolen vehicle. I also used to have plates that said STLN PL8 (Stolen Plate)

Down here south of Houston they stick it to you pretty good. Antique Plates $50.00, plus fees (about another $12.00) for 5 years, and you aren't supposed to even drive it. The only exeptions are: Parades, Shows, or Maintinance.

I do however have a set of new and never used 1972 Texas Truck plates!
