Aluminum Gen I Vortec timing cover..If you're tired of plastic

Came across this some months ago.

I looks like it is cast for a crankshaft position sensor, but it looks like it wasn't machined.

It doesn't look like it will work on stock engines.


EDIT: It says in the description: Timing Cover, 1-Piece, Aluminum, Black, Chevrolet, Small Block, Without Crank Sensor, Each



The only bad thing about the plastic ones is they aren't re-usable. The gasket is glued/bonded to the cover. But they are cheap enough that it doesn't matter. They don't have issues with leaking, and I've never seen one crack/break.

They do offer 2 covers that will work with crankshaft position sensors:
