Gets In Your Blood.....
I am certain many on here can share the same but thought I would start. Photo proof these old trucks get into your blood and it's basically incurable.
First photo is me at the age of 16 doing some work on my truck. Learned a lot on that truck, rebuilt rear end, rebuilt the engine, and even did my first disc brake conversion. It was a 70 model with a 71-72 front clip so I got all the parts from a 71 for disc brakes. Sorry for photo quality, my old photos have gotten wet at some point in almost 40 years. Second photo my my wife took less than a year ago as I was reassembling from an intake reseal and timing set install. Same old me, just heavier and with less hair.

Standing in the engine bay working on it. You won't do that with these late models.

Great photos you guys! It does get in your blood for sure. I'm still turning wrenches, just a bit slower!

Reaching tight spots lately has had its obstacles.. You should have seen this 71 year young guy trying to get the brake pedal pivot pin/cotter pin in on a recent brake booster swap. Great pictures guys!

Re: Gets In Your Blood.....
I just turned 68 and yes, I'm a bit slower than I was in the early years. I'm also much wiser and more careful.
A few years ago, I got interested in the old Chevy trucks again. So, I bought a Blazer to restore and then another that was a driver, then another from a friend of mine that was in really good shape. I decided at that time to go ahead and buy a two post lift for my garage. Best money ever spent on any kind of tool. It virtually eliminates the need to get down and crawl around on the floor under the truck. Now, for me, getting down on the floor is easy, getting back up is a different story I wouldn't undertake another project without having the lift. Four years ago I bought a '67 step side project and this past spring it was finally completed and on the road. During the LS swap phase, I had the cab up and down like a yo-yo getting it to fit just right.

Re: Gets In Your Blood.....
I hear ya on the getting up part. That lift enables you to "work like a gentleman".
