Help me Decide.. Here is a Poll

Looking at the inside of my truck in the pic my question is should I paint the glove box door with black wrinkle paint to match my gauge surround. I did this in my last truck and liked it. I would be getting a chrome glove box door so after being painted the chrome around the edge will show and match the edge of the gauge surround. To be fair the truck is getting parchment buckets and console with the green highlander plaid insert. Thanks for voting.

Re: Help me Decide.. Here is a Poll

The look you propose is really attractive in my opinion. It is YOUR truck, so who cares what we think. If you are doing this for re-sale, I'd keep it original. If you are doing it for yourself, do what you really want.

Thanks for your input. I have no plans to sell the truck and pretty much have made up my mind what I'm going to do but would like to get different thoughts and opinions on my idea.

I say paint , I think it gives more balance by bringing the black across and also a great idea by going witn the chrome edge/trim across to the passenger side really sets it off ..

As long as you keep the original GB door I say paint it.... It will be easy to switch back if you want.

I'm with Leon.

I also say ditch the steering wheel. I have the same one in my 55, and I'm just not fond of it.

in my opinion regardless of color scheme the glove box looks better when it matches the cluster. it balances the dash nicely.

Re: Help me Decide.. Here is a Poll

It looks nice how you propose. Would look better how you propose with black vinyl 72 schroll seat covers. Then might as well convert to an ls engine and new suspension and it would be a hell of a ride.

I would keep it All original.

Chrome door with black paint, and save original door. You can even get in touch with Chipflyer in here to make you a new spid for the chrome door.

Re: Help me Decide.. Here is a Poll

Have you considered getting the Cheyenne Super aluminum tray and adding textured black appliqué rather than woodgrain? That might be nice. No matter how much I scuff and prep chrome, it always flakes eventually, especially where it sees the most traffic/handling. Could also do the appliqué to the chrome door so as not to harm the original at all and have a better perimeter match to the instrument cluster. At the very least, a textured appliqué might be a better base to paint on and would ultimately match the instrument cluster texture a little better. Either way looks great Greg, I'd be torn on the stock vs black decision myself, the truck is so nice and original looking, it'd be a tough call. You can't go wrong either way though! If you change the wheel, the gm 3-spoke sport wheel with black textured rim might fit in very well with the black you're adding - as would a black column/black stock wheel would also.

It's not really a question at this point... just a few screws hold it all together. Get the new one and have at it.

I can't vote...like both. Your truck...your choice...either way is pleasing. However the black really carries the color theme of the dash.
