Hi there, this seems like a great site. I'm new to the old truck market but found this truck in my area. I'm looking for advice from people with experience with this type truck before I look at is so I know what to look for and what your opinions are on what it's worth.

It may not be cheap, but even at $18000, it is cheaper then what most can build on thier own. It is a nice truck and if you get this for 12000-15000, that would be a great deal....

I am into my truck around $27000 now and that does not include my time (but it does include about $2000-$3000 of mistakes and tools tools)

Hey There,

Go to Craigslist. I know there are a couple decent (seems like anyway as I have yet to see them) trucks located here in the valley. Completed such as this and decent builders depending on which way you want to go, work on it and make it your own, or a "show" truck turn the key type.

Also check the trucks for sale section on this list. There is a local short bed bigblock truck that already has had some work done to it, but I don't know what kind of condition it's in.

18 to 20K will go a very long way with these trucks if you chose to buy a builder.

My $.02
Buying a truck that has been completed is nice, if you like all of someone elses work. The nice thing about building your own is just that, your hard work and sweat. Nothing better than cruising down the street in something "you've" built. My suggestion, if you don't want to do a complete rebuild, buy a truck that someone has done the inital "mods" and build the rest.

on whatever decision you make now

I don't trust ebay, period. If I'm going to pay more than a couple thousand for any vehicle I'd have to see it in person and drive it.

My opinion is that based on the info and pictures that's a 10-14K truck.

Hi sixd7! I agree with John Fabris. If you are like me (not in the restoring business) you couldn't build that truck for his "buy Now price!" Now having said that we all know that most people don't get out of what they have in the truck when one gets ready to sale. For the most part the more "original" a truck is the more one tends to get in return for the truck. If you are one that likes that "custom" look then I say this truck is worth it and of course anything less is always a (+). Keep in mind I'm just looking at the truck from a monitor but I would recommend you lay hands and eyes on the truck before you finalize anything. Another way to look at it is to ask yourself "Is this truck worth it to me?" Good luck and as they say on EBAY, "happy bidding!"

I agree with John. If you went to duplicate that truck, assuming its clean and built correctly, the parts alone would be 20k. If you don't want to bother with a restoration, and want a nice truck you can drive immediately, this is the kind of truck you should look for. You could then make updates and personalize it for what you like as time and money allowed. OTOH if you want to build your own truck, look for one more in the 2-4k range I'd say.

I can easily see how you have 27k in that truck John. I am assembling mine currently and every time I call a vendor for those "last few parts" I spend five hundred bucks!
