Finally, at the point of finishing up the door panels and about ready to install them. Had billet aluminum inserts made to replace the factory sheet metal wood grained inserts. They go real nice with the billet instrument cluster and glove box door Javy made. I told the machine shop (not Javy, a local shop) to make a mirror image of the driver's insert and wouldn't you know it they cut the Chevy bowtie backwards in the passenger side. Oh well, I guess it will give some a chuckle and others a laugh.

Is that a door panel for our trucks? Where did you get the base plastics for it?

It's the stock 72 plastic panels as a base. They likely have a scroll pattern under that billet insert. Look great!

I wouldn't have noticed the "mirror image" emblem differences had you not said so. I guess I need to be more observant, or I'll miss out on some of the fun, lol.

Those are sweet! Maybe the bowties aren't perfect, but the "mirror image" might just turn out to be OK once you have them in the truck. Wouldn't bother me, but I might ask the maker for a good discount since they were not as ordered, LOL!

They are original 72 door panels. Cut out about 90% of the area under the billet piece on the door panel to get rid of the scroll work so it would lay flat when attached. Drilled and tapped about 20 holes in the edge under the stock chrome trim piece and then used socket head button screws from the back side to hold it on tight. They are sprayed gray to match the interior.

Looks nice. Yes...I can see you having many conversation about your bow tie, but flipped or not those are VERY sharp.
