Motor mount stands
I have a 70 c10 and I put in a 383 stroker. The front end is off of a 72 c10. Is there a difference in engine mount stands from a 70 to a 72?

Re: Motor mount stands
I think big block stands are also different. Oh and they can be swapped from side to side and move the engine foreward or back also.

Re: Motor mount stands
Thanks guys. The reason I ask is because I can't install my headers due to them hitting on the brackets. Any suggestions?

Re: Motor mount stands
I had similar problems so I went with '74 mounts and stands. I am not sure if it will work for you, but worth a try.

Re: Motor mount stands
What headers are you running,I had my motor in the 6cyl. spot and slid it back to the v-8 holes while I upgrade to a 700r4 trans. Now my headers touch the bottom a-arm shaft I used a 74 crossmember on mine.I had a 70 C-10 that I did the same thing to and same brand of headers .Chevy parts will swap right over my a@#,u just gotta find the right combination.

Re: Motor mount stands
I just looked at my motor mounts and they aren't quite lining up on the frame. I swapped the crossmember out of an 84 burb and I have the motor mount perches. When I set them up the original lower holes work fine but the frame side is about 1/4" off of the frame. I'm not sure if this would help with your issue. I have to figure out how my gap is fixed.

Re: Motor mount stands
I think I'm going to go with the tubular style mount towers. Does anyone know who I can go thru to get some?
