'rod doors' door panels

I was wanting to maybe install some of these but just leave them plastic and only wrap the 2 inserts with black leather. Do you think the plastic grain would be nice enough to display with leather accents?

(the guys that have installed these on there truck might know a little more)

also would i have any problems installing these on my '81?

You could do that maybe paint it with vintl paint to match something inside or out. I have the same thing for my 65 and just have the inserts wrapped but I plan on finishing them with something.

Re: 'rod doors' door panels

the panels fit all the doors so you won't have "problems" installing them. As for just covering portions, I guess you could, but they were designed to be covered. The grain looks basically like any other plastic grain, so it isn't that different...
