Cuttin' the frame

I was thinking about having my frame shortened. I have a 72 C-10 LWB, I want to make it into a swb. I was wondering how many has had this done, and how much it cost. Well I have a swb frame that needs redoing. Well my LWB has new brakes(front&rear), new starter, tires, radiator, intake, carb, shocks, hoses. I just want to hurry up and have a swb truck. So what would you do?

Re: Cuttin' the frame

Man with everyone cutting frames and making SWB trucks out of LWB ones, I'm gonna have to find a LWB and keep it long.

Re: Cuttin' the frame

I was thinking about posting a poll on this to see how many members have done it or had it done. I can think of half a dozen at least (myself included). I know one member quoted $500 to have his done at a shop in the Portland area (Brad). I suspect you'll have to find a real Hot Rod shop if you want to outsource it. There's a How-To on the CPP site as well.
