what did yall get done this weekend?

ive been busting butt on the short truck with no visible progress.

spent last weekend trashing a the remains of a lwb 4x4 for the vin and trim parts.

spent this weekend trashing a swb trailer for the rear axle and getting a replacement axle for the replacement trailer for my freind that donated his trailer/axle.

got the auto shift linkage installed and got 2 new to me rear axles, 1 14bff for the longtruck and a trailing arm 12b for the blown up one in the short truck.

i also had the pleasure of scratching my eyeball with some road grime off the bottom of the short truck, yeah!!

Re: what did yall get done this weekend?

Started my annual garage cleaning chores & tinted some windows for a guy in town. Nothing on the truck though. Pretty sad when the only time my truck gets out of the garage is once a year to clean around it. I took a couple pics but sadly they look almost exactly like the pictures from last year. I swear next year will be different. Who am I kidding...

Re: what did yall get done this weekend?

Well, I'm on duty at the FD today so all I had was yesterday to work on my hauler. I installed my newly refurbished 3 piece drive shaft , swapped out the floor shift non tilt column and installed my tilt automatic column , put the hood hinges back on and bolted the hood down , and actually drove my hauler from the front of the shop to behind it. I was sitting on a bucket so I didn't think it prudent to get out on the highway. Hopefully I'll get it sorted out this week and get it to the body shop.

Re: what did yall get done this weekend?

well i finally got the 69 off of the jack stands from rebuilding the front end to add disk brakes and i got the old master cylinder off the truck and bolted up the booster. i also got my 700r4 back from the trans shop and threw another coat of primer on that. i also made a trans crossmember and got that sanded down and primed as well. on top of all of that i got my 3 core radiator installed and the new hoses on. i would have done more but i was mentaly pooped. i did apsolutly nothing today.

Re: what did yall get done this weekend?

Took inventory of all the parts ive been buying lately and did some organizing. Put a 2nd coat on the trailing arms, core support and control arms. I also got my tailgate blasted, primed and sealed it for storage until i figure out what to do with it...think I may end up putting it on the board.

Re: what did yall get done this weekend?

I replaced a couple of U-joints in the drive shaft. Managed to split my vice in 2 putting in the 2nd one, so I didn't get the third one out. Probably should invest in a press. Thankfully Canadian Tire was nice enough to replace the vice on warranty. Oh, and a new PCV valve. Hope that will slow down a couple of leaks, and keep the engine bay a bit cleaner.

Re: what did yall get done this weekend?

Cut a hole in my dash to put my stereo in. Sanitized all the wiring. Replaced the turn signal switch. Installed new speakers in the doors. Cut out about 500 feet of un-needed wire...Previous owner had the cab looking like a 747 cockpit with all the toggle switches. Installed an oil filter adapter to allow my engine to accept spin-ons. Changed the oil. Replaced the motor mounts. Oh yeah and replaced the horn. I think that is it Tomorrow when I am at work I am going to start building my fuel tank for under the bed.

Re: what did yall get done this weekend?

I got my tank and compressor mounted, the driver side lower ball joint , the drop spindle and disc brake installed, the master cylinder mounted to the brake booster, and the front air lines started.

I need to bleed the brakes, mount the valves, run way too many wires, mount the gauges, then get started on the back.

I'm waiting on front shocks, but everything else is ready to go. Man, the front is about 6" lower in the front aired out and what a differnce it makes!

Once EVERYTING is together, pics will follow.

<edit> Engine clean up is next weekend. I somehow decided to get new valve covers and wire looms. I saw someones engine (or an engine they wanted, I forget which) and it had these slick plug wire looms I had to have.

I got my new cam installed in my engine Sat. morning. I spent the rest of Sat and Sunday paneling the inside of the mother-in-law's house.

Completed striping a frame, when my wife was not looking. Lot of pressure to finish a remodeling project before I work on this truck project.

Re: what did yall get done this weekend?

I got a few things done, I installed carpet and my buddy buckets.
last week I installed a tilt column and new wheel (many thanks to the FAQ section!!!!!) a few guys asked for some more pics and some specs on my truck so I'll take a few more pics and do a little write up on it.

I tell ya it's hard to stop when you're making progress!!!!

Re: what did yall get done this weekend?

Went up Rist Canyon and filled the GMC plumb full of 8' to 10' long logs, 3" to 12" in diameter. Made racks for the bed so that I could stack them to just above the roof, so I am guessing a little over a cord or so. Brought them home and bucked 'em all up, then split it all. Now I have a hugh pile of split firewood that needs stacked

Re: what did yall get done this weekend?

Got the brake and clutch pedals all back together, assembled the power brake booster brackets and linkage, and glued the insulation up under the dash. Also painted a bunch of parts.

Re: what did yall get done this weekend?

Didn't get a thing done on that truck of mine. Put a new thermocouple in our furnace Saturday, and watched the bengals lose on Sunday. Need to get working on my truck, but the weather isn't cooperating this week, and next weekend will hopefully be tied up getting a new car (fingers crossed). I want to get it back together to where it only takes up one garage bay instead of 2.5 bays so I have a garage for my daily driver all winter.
