Anyone have a low mount AC Comp on an LS

I have a 71 K20 that is getting a truck 6.0. I will be adding an aftermarket air system from one of the various companies. I'm looking for an ac compressor that will fit in the factory location on the engine. The factory one will fit, but there is no way the lines can attach to the compressor without hitting the frame. I have trimmed the frame some, but I'm not willing to go far enough for the lines to clear. I would really like it mounted low since I've already cleared the frame.

Is there such thing? It looks like the dirty dingo low mount could possibly work with the Sanden they sell. The lines come out farther up.

Does anyone have pics if they have mounted low?

.

I know I've seen low mount pumps on these trucks at the shows. Sanden makes pump heads with various outlet configurations and lines can be had that come directly off the head low profile and wrap around the pump to come out elsewhere.

EDIT: Have a look at this thread. The picture posted (link) shows a sanden low on an LS. The head they used shoots the lines off that way. Another head could shoot them off another way.

Thanks guys,

The end caps for the compressor looks promising, for sure.

Re: Anyone have a low mount AC Comp on an LS

Here's one
I bought a short hard line and bent it for the suction side, the high pressure side uses a 90º crimp on fitting on reduced barrier hose to go to the condensor.
The high pressure port is under the battery tray, just barely enough to connect to.
I also put the heater valve close by, you can barely see it under the hoses.
It's a close fit but I like how it's hidden away.
let me know if you want more pictures.

Here's an example of a stock compressor with reworked lines.

Re: Anyone have a low mount AC Comp on an LS

I have a 68 with a 4.8 in stock v8 location , stock 03 ls compressor , clears. AC not hooked up yet , but a company called cold hose sells pn AA2209-AA2210 , LS fittings that put both lines straight out the front , looks like it will clear with no notching. One of the guys above mentioned cold hose for compressor ends. I didn't dive into their site to see what else they have. Those fittings look like they may work. I'll probably order and see how they fit.

Were you planning on stock LS compressor?

Yes, that is what I had hoped for. It is mounted up now and I had already cleared the frame some. Then I ran into the connection problem.

I just ordered the adapters from Cold Hose. We'll see how they turn out.

Re: Anyone have a low mount AC Comp on an LS

I used the Dirty Dingo low mount bracket set up and a Sanden style A/C compressor. I used this A/C line adapter with 45 degree fittings and cleared the factory curved lip. It does get a little funky with the water pump/heater core lines right above this, did the best I could with that situation.
