Window run

I know window questions aren't very popular.... But I have a problem:
I just replaced the window channels and felt on my '71 Blazer. Now, when rolling down the window, it binds up at about 3 inches down and I have to reach back and slide the window forward to enable it to be rolled down the rest of the way. How can I keep the window flush against the front channel to allow it to roll down as designed? Thanks, Tony

How about some silicone spray on the felt channel, might lubricate it enough to finish the run, w/o binding

OK thanks, I'll try that. I was thinking a spacer of some sort to bring the rear channel closer to the front.

The tracks probably need to be cleaned and lubricated. There are plastic wheels that ride in metal tracks on the regulator and the bottom of the glass channel. Those tracks are probably very dirty and the plastic rollers may be broken. When you installed the new felt, it probably removed some slop that allowed the regulator to jump over rough spots.

Yes, I cleaned and re-lubricated the metal track

I'm having the same problem in my 68 suburban. problem is the window glass is coming off of the track.

Mine was fine before I rebuilt it. Now it is as if it is spread too far apart, but the tracks are
back in the exact same place.

Whose parts did you use exactly, rear channel has built in cap for the door. When you said felt and channel, were they 1 piece? Some of the replacing felt strips are too thin, if you tried to rebuild an existing channel, it will be sloppy.

OK, thanks. I had not considered aftermarket being inferior. It was LMC: I replaced the front channel and the short in-the-door rear channel, and the rattle felt strips inside and out side the window opening of the door. I may need to shim the top of the rear channel to keep glass snug to the front channel. Again, thanks.

I am not sure who has the better parts I have bought some from classic truck parts and they were pretty good. Probably ( Counter parts ) same as The Truck Shop in Ca...There is some adjustment to the tracks but not much. I don't think there should be any side slop/ rattle.
