New used compressor madness

I was trolling CL for parts to fix my 60 gallon compressor or a new used one for a few weeks and fought the urge to get a Saylor Beall VT735-80 but I've lost the battle.

This thing is a monster at 650 pounds. 80 gallon, 17.3 CFM at175 PSI

Here's a link to the mfgr's site with a pic. http://saylor-beall.com/air_compress...d_vertical.php.

Now I have to run power to the thing and build an air line system.

I must be nuts. I don't think I need this much compressor and it doesn't fit where the old one is, so I lose garage real estate.

But its nice...

Here's the pic the PO sent.

Sweet!

Could you put it outside on a concrete pad and build a shelter around it to save your floor space?

Re: New used compressor madness

I was thinking about doing that before we moved it. Now I'm not so sure I want to move it again.

Good idea though...

I need to think about the clearance needed around it. 12" from the wall to the pulley/fan is stuck in my mind but I can't think of how it got there.

Unless you want to wear earplugs in the shop, put that monster outside. I put my 80 gallon Devilbiss in my shop and after a month I did the unthinkable, I put it outside. Never regretted it.

"retro looking outhouse structure" Now that's funny!

Thanks for the comments. Now I'll need to check what the city has to say about a structure...
