Rear sliding window ID

How can you tell if a rear slider is stock or aftermarket? Mine says Pasport on the latch.
Thanks

Re: Rear sliding window ID

My '71 4x4 has a Passport slider I had installed many years ago. Still have the original box it came in which has about 3-4 solid back glass windows for safe keeping storage. Bought the window at a local farm/ranch suppy that carried some automotive items. Hope that helps in your question.

I have 2 originals that I pulled out of trucks that stated rear slider on the glove box spid. They are up in my attic and I don't believe they have a part number on them. I think they subbed them out. Mine screw together in the lower corners but have heard of some being welded together in the lower corners

Re: Rear sliding window ID

How can you tell the difference between OEM and aftermarket? The marking on the glass maybe?

Re: Rear sliding window ID

I'd have to dig one out and look for specific differences. But,as I recall,no brand is on them and they al had a chrome metal latch. The glass won't be LOF as these are actually a jobber's product, not GM. They are more of a GM authorized accessory that became also available as an option. "All" trucks cane through with a solid back window, then was switched "on the factory lot" by a vendor before the truck was loaded for transport. I have had '72s with the slider on the SPID. Does anyone know of prior years having one listed?

Here's a couple I've had:

Re: Rear sliding window ID

I'm not sure if the slider on mine now is OE or a repro, I would also be interested in specific markings, if any, pics are always helpful too.

Re: Rear sliding window ID

Yes, if someone knows they have a oem slider check it out, sofar I still don't know how to tell the difference, except if it says Passport on it then it is aftermarket, or did Passport sell to GM also?
