just lowered and have some questions.

ok, so i just put 2.5 spindles on my 86 and i noticed that one tire sticks out like a half inch more than the other side. When i hit bumps in the road only that side hits my fender. tire size is 275/60ish?/15.

I plan on getting 18" wheels also, what backspacing and tire size do you guys recommend?

Re: just lowered and have some questions.

Here's one theory:

Check to see if the gap between the front fender and front bumper is even from side to side.

The regular cabs are really short, so when setting the cab on the frame it can shoot off to one side or the other (rotated in the plan view). The hood direction is established by the front of the cab, and then the front fender fit to hood is based on that by sliding the radiator support to that side.

Net effect is that the front end is off to one direction, potentially allowing the other tire to hit the fender. You hadn't noticed before the truck was lowered.

Looks good. Is your cab bare metal? GL figuring out your problem.

Re: just lowered and have some questions.

275/60 is tooo big a tire to run on the front for a lowered truck, 245/60 would be a better fit, I plan on getting 18's for my 83 soon and am looking at getting 18x8 for the fronts and 18x10's for the rear

Re: just lowered and have some questions.

I found mine to have too much positive camber on the left side that stuck out and too much negative camber on the right. You rims have a greater off set than stock also.

I have 255/60s on mine.

Your trucks lookin good

What size wheel are you guys using on the front in order to run the 245's/255's?

Re: just lowered and have some questions.

Ya, 275 is way to much on the front of a lowered truck. I ran 255/60/15 on a 15x8 rim.

Re: just lowered and have some questions.

Another place you could get a 6 lug is from 1970 and older chevy trucks. I would take measurements a lot of places to see if both sides are even.

Re: just lowered and have some questions.

My old 83 did the same thing when I lowered it. Turned out to be a bent frame. Not trying to scare you , just another thing to check.
