Replacing turn signal stalk/cruise switch

Ok, well, I'm trying to swap out my turn signal stalk/cruise control switch with the one I yanked out of an '83 'burb in the junkyard.. It was easy to remove, just disconnected the wires and a slight tug had them out of the column. Now I'm trying to put this on my '86.. Is there any way to run this wire down the column without tearing the column apart??

Re: Replacing turn signal stalk/cruise switch

Yes. You can do it with a stiff small gauge wire and some patience. I have a piece that I took out of a spring set on an old bench seat and it works quite well for things like this. The wire is pretty rigid.
