Add to fan shroud or use fan spacer

I am looking for ideas on what to do with my Suburban. It has a 454 4 row rad and shroud with a 350 engine. Due to this the fan isn't far enough in the shroud. I can't use most fan spacers, as they are meant for flex fans that don't have a clutch. Anyone know of a spacer meant for clutch fans?

Or, I was thinking of maybe adding a strip of aluminum around the shroud to make it deeper, but don't know where I would even look to be able to get something like that.

A picture or two would be helpful, but if you can't I understand. Aluminum pieces can be found at Lowes or Home Depot. How far into the shroud is your fan?

Re: Add to fan shroud or use fan spacer

I have the exact same set up on my C10.. Hayden makes a 1in fan spacer that put the fan 1/2 in and 1/2 out of the shroud. I noticed a huge difference in cooling on the gauge and a/c efficiency after i installed it.

Do you happen to have a part number? The only thing I have found from hayden is a flex fan spacer that while the spacer is great....the bolts are too long to be able to get into the holes of the clutch due to the clutch itself being in the way.

Right now the fan is maybe 1/32" to 1/16" into the shroud.

Not sure if you're maybe asking about trying it that way?

Currently, there are studs in the water pump. About 1/2" worth that threads into the pump, and about 3/4" worth that are what are used to bolt the pulley and clutch onto. My only concern with the studs is being able to find some that have the flared out un-threaded part with a longer threaded portion on front.
