Well it's snowing

Round 1, first 8 inches. Expecting 24+ inches by midnight. It's why I bought this POS . We should have quite a snowbank by the time this is over

I'm right with ya CPNE. Except my 71 isn't enjoying this snow like your's is. I'm in the Lakes Region and got about 8" so far.

I enjoy it when you get snow cause you're always good at posting pics of your plow truck doing what it was designed for!

Re: Well it's snowing

I just got done plowing the communities’ roads & driveways. The community has a ‘73 3/4 ton Ford truck. I’m the Fix Or Repair Daily guy. This summer I’m going to put power steering on it. We looked into another vehicle (short wheel base & PS) but our plow wouldn’t work on it. We have a real heavy plow blade(8.5 foot Western) and it Nice. I wont fit some smaller trucks. So the short wheel base truck was ruled out. We could have gotten a new plow but it’s $4K.
The nice thing about plowing with the Ford, I don’t cry whenever it gets banged up!

Re: Well it's snowing

CPNE, it's just now getting serious here on the coast. Guess it's time to light the wood stove, turn on the tunes, and pull a couple of wrenches. No sense in rushing into cleaning out the driveway now. They say it will continue to early AM here. 12" to 18".

When I get really old (I'm already sorta old,) I'm going to put my snow blower on the back of my truck and drive south until someone asks me "what is that thing?" Then I'll know where to retire!

I hate snow and it still snowing here in Central Pa. I wish I had a truck like that CPNE. When I was younger I used to ride around with my dad and I was his power angle adjustment the old pull the pin and spin I loved it.

I think I'm close enough to the coast here (Southern coastal Maine)that we may only get around 12". No complaints here, it's been a really easy winter so far.
CPNE-My "Farmtruck" is long gone now, and so is the '71 Z-28 I did after it, but I am looking for a 67 or 68 short step to do as my next project. If you hear of any, feel free to drop a pm....John

When I was in Kittery in 1985-1989 (submarine at the shipyard) I never felt such cold as I did there.

Man was it cold.

Re: Well it's snowing

GEEZ!!!!!!! Tell me about it! I had all my meetings in IN cancelled yesterday when it first started snowing...they were claiming about 12" at the time. I was in PA and flew to NJ then Chicago...what was I thinking? I was lucky to get out of Chicago (they were only cancelling 1/2 of the flights) and flew to Houston before getting back to Seattle at 3:00AM this morning. I just love travelling in the winter...LOL! My traveling partner is stuck on I-695 trying to get out of Baltimore...he should have left with me...ROFLMAO!

Huh, it's just freezing rain where I am right now, but I'm right on the coast. It said 5-11 inches for my area, we must have 6 already. It will probably get more intense as soon as it gets dark.

Great to see another Mainer on the board!

I'm doing well...Iknow what you mean about the 67-68 being hard to find up here. I think I got really lucky with the '69 that became the "Farmtruck." I have thought about moving to a 73-87 stepside, but my dream has been to do a 67-68. I may end up buying 69-72 and changing the front clip. I've noticed that replacement sheet metal has become more available and less expensive than when I did the '69. I couldn't find replacement rear stepside fenders back then. I'm glad to see you're still on the board. I'm sure there are still others from "in the day" when I was frequenting. Looks like I lost my post count, I think for some reason I had to re-register a few years ago and it went back to zero....Oh well....

We have been hit with some snow but mostly cold weather. Nothing like Jeff is seeing. I just can't imagine what it would be like to handle that much snow!

Good luck to you, Jeff!

Thumbs up Re: Well it's snowing

last time we had snow here was around 1976--about 1/2 inch. it was sunny and in the low 60s today-supposed to be pushing 70 by the weekend. looks like fun playing in the white stuff though

Re: Well it's snowing

9PM, finished with round 3, looked to be another 8 inches or so. Still snowing steady so round 4 will be in the morning. We have not had a 24 hr snowfall like this in years. No school for a second day tomorrow, that means the back roads have yet to be cleared.

Jim I love your plow truck, but you need 4 eyes to push the deep stuff!

The driver is my youndest son CPNEJR. He sure is a lot bigger now than when this pic was taken 4 years ago. As you can see, the truck has had no improvements except a mismatched tailgate and a set of OE dogdish hupcaps

Re: Well it's snowing

Around Christmas we got almost 5'! And there is still some of it around, in addition to what we got today. I've been in snowmobiling heaven ever since! Been riding around here to kill time and then we've been going to Albany or Centennial, Wyoming practically every weekend since! A few weeks ago we rode back to the lodge at night. When we got back, it was -22*F. Add in the 40-50mph ride back, and the wind chill on us was around -55*F!!!!! Thank god for good riding gear!

First ride this season, New Years weekend:
