Front Sway bar Pics
First I like to say I am fairly new to this site but it rocks......I rebuilt the rear suspension last week and am currently rebuilding the front suspension on my 71 SWB. I came across a factory optioned sway bar but not exactly sure how it connects. I have new bushings and clamps and I have the brackets that it looks like were riveted to the frame. But my frame doesn't look like it has holes for this. Wouldn't all the frames be the same if the truck had the option or not? Does anybody have a picture of their factory sway bar so I see. Thanks

This is the best I got. The holes should be there, front of the frame, about where the radiator support is.

I think they all have the mounting holes...mine did and it was a non sway-bar truck from the factory.

Mine did to but I had to dig out 30+ years or crud and knock of the rivets on each side.

yea baby..every truck should have a sway bar.
that was one of the best upgrades i did to my truck.WHAT A DIFFERENCE only second to the internally regulated alt upgrade.

yea baby..every truck should have a sway bar.
 Biggest single improvement I ever made. Went from being down right shakey at highway speeds to very stable with such a simple addition. They should've had em as standard equipment. BTW, ragen'rat, what shade of blue is that? it is very nice!

It has to be the single greatest upgrade I have done to mine so far. I couldn't believe how flat it corners now.

As stated 73-87 sway bars bolt right in. Something to keep in mind is 73-87 3/4 and 1 ton sway bars are 1 1/4" thick compared to 1 1/8" for the rest including all 71-72.
Mine is 1 1/4" and is shown with the lowered type brackets from ECE.
