Great project you have going there! Those are definitely the largest U-Bolts I have ever seen holding those springs together!

Re: MY little Project....

So been working away on the truck lately:
new gas tank/straps
new wiring front to back for the tail lights.
new cab and cab mounts
new bed floor
trans service and new lines from trans to cooler
alt
starter
put the new cab together installed stereo, glove box,got the heater fan working, hooked the heater core up (need heat for the lil one)
removed the old wheel lift equipment
ETC

Ever seen a fender like this? lol

worst spot on the cab, hear in canada that's a scratch that can be buffered out lmao.

Re: MY little Project....

dang man, I thought my leaf springs were huge! I had to run out and take a pic for ya:

16 leaves per side if you count the helpers. How did that thing ride? I assume like it had solid suspension in the rear! The shocks are pretty much stting at full extension, haha. Rides like a tank. I gotta do something about that...

Re: MY little Project....

My truck previously did not have anything on the back, just a bare frame, so every time I hit decent sized bump it would hurt.

On my way back into the seat from the air the seat belt would lock up, sucking me yet farther into the seat. not so much fun... I'll be swapping to some much lighter duty springs in the future.

I bet it rides a ton better! Too bad sporttruck screwed you, now you get to pull them out again if you decide to lower it.

lol it's all good i now know how to do it and whats involved. i'm thinking my 3 inch spindles in the front cut a coil out and do a 2 inch shackle in the rear (for now) and it will be a bit nicer.
