I've heard a lot about this show... I will have to put it on the schedule for next year.

I hope you're able to make it and hoepfully the weather will cooperate for everyone.

The Ottawa sow, usually has around 1100 to 1200 cars and trucks for their weekend. They have a cutoff date for vehicles and will not let anything newer than a 72 into the show. I have not spent much time there since the cutoff date was inacted, but they do give a good show.

I am working on going to the Ark City Tumbleweeds show on the 26th, 27th, and 28ty of September. It is well done and draws people from 5 or 6 states.

Do you have a room already? May not get one, if you haven't reserved one.

I reserved 3 rooms in Ottawa 2 months ago, called them Saturday to cancel 1 & they acted like they never had a reservation for any of them. (can you say pissed off?) I ended up getting some rooms 27 miles up the road in Gardner.

Re: Anyone going to the huge Ottawa,KS car show?

I'll be there Saturday and maybe Sunday. I'll either be in my '56 Chevy 4dr wagon or my '57 Bel-Air 4dr hardtop. The 4-speed in the wagon is making some noise so not sure I trust it. Ottawa is just under an hour away from my house. I've been to the show twice in the past four years and would recommend it to anyone. Good size show and great location (as long as it doesn't rain).

When I saw a thread about a show in KS I figured I'd mention "The Last Run" in Ark City, but you beat me to it. Its a nice show with usually 800-1000 cars. The Saturday night cruise is usually pretty big. I should be there with my '71. Heres a link if anyones interested.

I'll put the Ark City show up against the Ottawa show any day. It is an open show, which means that you can enter vehicles that are made AFTER the 1972 cut off that Ottawa has. A couple years ago that club gave away a duece coupe streetrod and five years before that, it was a different street machine.. Anyone that pre-entered, got a ticket and you had a chance for the rod. The entry is less than the Ottawa show also. Good people and well organized event.

Look for a black 84 GMC SWB pickup with chameleon flames on the front. I will be there bright and early.
