72 k 10 fleetside bed

Hi guys , this is my first post and am a bit lost as to the remounting of my bed. I bought the truck in pieces partialy done as a frame off. The bed is almost done but im wondering if the fleetsides sit directly on the frame or are there mounting pads like the stepsides ? If there are can someone tell me where to find them. Lmc only shows them for the stepside beds so i am a bit lost. Seems like something should go in between but since i bought the truck apart i could use some advice. Thanks in advance for any help

Re: 72 k 10 fleetside bed

My K20 bed was set right on top of the frame from GM. I did use the square thin asphalt spacers when I did the rebuild and these did not noticeably change the body lines. Good luck with your build and welcome!

Re: 72 k 10 fleetside bed

When I pulled the bed from my '71K10 it also was sitting on the bare frame mounts but when I re-installed I used rubber pads between the frame mount and the bed. Think I bought them as a " kit " but don't recall who I got them from, been to long ago.

I have never used anything when mounting the beds on my builds. I haven't noticed any squeaks or any problems doing it that way.
