Blinker Both Flash with Running lights and Head lights off

Question I finally got a new wiring harness installed from a guy on this forum (HID Harness).. But I noticed and I am not sure it was doing it before but Now if I turn my blinkers on both flash like the flashers are on.. Not if I turn my running light or head lights on they work as normal.. Did I do something wrong? I dont think this was a issue before but I could be wrong

Re: Blinker Both Flash with Running lights and Head lights off

I was just told that the LED bulbs I put in the Blinkers might be causing the issue.. Any idea how to use the LED and not have this issue?

I have the same issue and have replaced nothing. When I have headlights off they both blink when I turn on the left blinker and right on by its self. And when I hit the brake lights running lights come on. Its all jacked up. So I hope someone can help us both.

Usually when strange things like this take place is because of a bad grounds . The power is trying to find a path when the ground is missing , I would find all your ground sources and remove and clean them and see if the condition goes away .

Mine wasnt that bad when turn the Head lights on the left indicater stayed on. checked cleaned grounds it was still on. Few months later notice left park light out pulled the socket out and it was on wiggled wires off on replaced socket. Low and behold that also took care of the indicater problem also.

Gas Monkey Garage had LED bulbs do the same thing on their Knight Rider project. Swapped back to regular bulbs and no issues. Usually a ground issue as stated and some diodes don't pass power to ground properly.

Re: Blinker Both Flash with Running lights and Head lights off

I've only had my truck for a short time, so I don't believe I had an issue until I started swapping out my bulbs to LEDS. Mine was doing the exact same thing. One of my parking light sockets was bad, so I replaced both. That took care of that problem, but I'm still having weird things going on with my lights. Like now, when I put my foot on the brake, all the parking lights come on-even the turn signals both light up on the dash. It's driving me insane!!! I'm about to switch back to the regular bulbs and see if all the problems go away.

The guy at AutoZone was saying that the LEDS will cause issues especially with the blinker action. I didn't have that issue, but I still put that LED relay in the relay box. Maybe he was right, the LEDS are just causing everything to not work properly.
If anyone has any suggestions, I'm open too any and all help.

Changed all my bulbs back to the regular bulbs (I got all new ones), and low & behold everything works as it should. So I guess the LEDS were the issue

im having this same issue, having a crew cab long bed dually, im almost $300 (before headlights) into LED bulbs that i would like to make work.

has anyone tried to individually ground each one? like the cab lights are grounded? i think i might try this first before scrapping all these bulbs

(yes i have the LED specific flashers for the blinker and hazards)

I was told that if I would have put load resistors on, they would have been fine. I just didn't want to mess with it anymore.

each light needs one? or one for each circuit? (cab lights, marker lights, blinkers, brakes)

EDIT: nevermind, one per flashing bulb from - https://d114hh0cykhyb0.cloudfront.ne...istor_info.pdf

Yes, just you flashing bulbs, as you said in your edit. That would include the marker, since they flash too.

Re: Blinker Both Flash with Running lights and Head lights off

just to close this out, ive tried load resistors, LED specific flashers and independent grounds at each location and the bleed through is too much.

i had to go back to the incandescent bulbs in the flashers and the tail lights.

just an FYI.

I too, had to go back to the regular bulbs. And then everything was fine.
