Quick Stops Cause Flooding - Holley Carb??

I have a Holley 4160 (600cfm) carb. And don't even respond if you're just going to bad-mouth Holleys.

The last couple weeks I have noticed that if I have to stop short, the carb seems to be flooding. I tested it yesterday in a parking lot and stopped real quick and it died!

Anybody seen this happen or know of possible causes? Logically, it sounds like a float issue, but I'm not sure. I've never gotten into a Holley before so I need some help on this one.

Thanks Rip! I fully expect to get some replies from the Holley haters about how I need to buy another carb. But, I've had mine for over a year (on the truck when I got it) and haven't had any problems. This is problem number 1. I actually just got two more Holley's from a freind and plan on rebuilding them. I just downloaded Holley's service/repair manual for the 4160. So, I have some reading to do.

Anyone else have any suggestions?

Sounds like you have a bad float. Or Needle and seat assembly. If not, there are some tricks the roundy round racers use for this very problem, I think they are called slosh tubes. Have you tried contacting Holley's Tech and Helpline Dept.? They are real good help. They helped me out when I had a problem dialing one in.
