350 sbc oil filter?
Hi guys I have a 1978 Chevy c20 with a unknown 350 in it.
Im new to small blocks and know little to nothing about them. I haven't ran numbers on the block yet and am wondering if need to figure out what year my block is before buying an oil filter. Do all 350s use the same filter? or do I need one for specific years?

Re: 350 sbc oil filter?
There are two oil filter styles on small block Chevys
One is a canister oil filter on the early year style engines and The other is a standard spin on oil filter {Delco PF63) or some equivalents There are a few shorty style spin on filters needed on some vehicles due to close quarters etc

Re: 350 sbc oil filter?
Ok thanks I'll just get one for a 78 then shouldn't be a problem with a full size filter on my truck.
