New Owner , and need heater wiring help!

Thanks in advance for any info. First, someone gutted the heater system, radio , and lighter, basically everything altogether in my 1970 C10.
I have a few questions for proper re-installation of the heater system. I have all the parts: wiring harness, heater housing, controls, fan etc., but looking through the Clymer manual I am a little confused about how to deliver power to the wiring harness at the control section and like i said before it was gutted.
Since everything was essentially cut out I need advice at how to get power from my fuse box to the controls. Second, there is a red "hot" wire left but it doesn't clip into the slot on the heater wiring harness which Im assuming may be for the lighter, but Im not sure.Could I use that by just putting on a new connector?. Or should i run power from the fuse box or is this how it was powered originally ? Just getting into this bad boy and loving it, but need some advice!

Note: There is a brown wire that has been clipped, a grey wire, and two wires leading from my wiper motor(yellow and blue).
Any advice would be great...winter in Oregon needs a proper heater!

Look at the diagram above. Unless someone removed it, there should be a plug connector on the main harness for the heater that connects to the back of the heater control switch. You are going to need the harness from the fan motor to that heater control. Easily made, but cheap to buy from any vendor for around $15 or so. The cut gray wire is for the light bulb socket that snaps into the back of the heater control. You;ll have to get that socket from an auto parts store or junk yard.
