Weekend Wrenchin', What Did You Get Done?
-
Well, I finally got by the honeydew list and actually got some work done on the projects this weekend.... I had a rear seal leaking on the '67 so I thought it would be a good time to swap rear ends and put the 3.07 in it to replace the 3.73, new brake lines, wheel cylinders, & shoes. The shoes that were on it weren't that old but had a lot of cracks in them. (see pics) Any Idea what would cause that? I think they were the cheaper ones but still shouldn't do that.... Reason for the swap is to drop the RPMs on the 454 and hopefully help the MPG too. I also got the Demon Carb back on the '39 Ford after the factory rebuild (that will be another thread) & put the new stainless grille bars and chrome center bar on it. Looks pretty sharp with them, but I'm not sure it's 300 bucks worth of sharp.. (keeps repeating -It's only money, you can't take it with you..) Now I need to figure out a different way to mount the tranny cooler behind the grille, to make it look better. Anyway.... What did you guys & gals get done?
