Sounds like they sent you the wrong rotors; you might have 4-wd rotors, I beleive they are different from 2-wd. If in doubt, phone lmc. They will know.

Call them because they have been very fair with me when I made a mistake and ordered the wrong part.

You didn't mention what type of wheels you have, but I remember a statement on several of the vender sites about some rims may not clear the caliper with the disk brakes. I would imagine this probaly pertains to stock steel wheels, but it could apply to custom wheels too.

What the &%$@!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I just went out to work somemore and now they measure the same. I guess i should lay off the Jack while working.LOL KIdding. But the wheels still rub the caliper. They a 15x12 ultras, fixing to buy a set of 15x8.5 in a week or two though. Taxes what could be the problem. the calipers are slid all the way up against the outter pad. I have new calipers on the way now to complete the brake build up, will be here tues. Maybe that will let me notice somthing simple?!? Any new ideas???? thanks for all the input

Have you replaced your pads since the wheels went on originally?
The thickness of the new rotors combined with the fresh pads are probably kicking the caliper out just enough to cause contact. I have seen ppl use washers (between the tim and rotor) to rectify this problem. |

i have thought of that myself but before i went to rigging on my new frontend i wanted to ck with yall. looks like it would probly only take one washer to fix this problem if thats the way to go

I'll bet your rims that don't fit on the front over the new rotors do fit over the drums in the back.
When I was in high school a friend had a 1974 Chevelle with front disc brakes. He had a flat on the front so I let him use the spare for my 72 drum brake Malibu. It didn't fit over the rotors. It wouldn't work. When I converted my 72 Malibu from front drums to front discs I had to get a set of 4 rims that fit over the rotors so I'd have 4 matching rims. My truck has 6 rims that fit the 6-lug bolt pattern. Only 4 of the rims fit over the rotors on the front. To make a long story short, as Palf70Step points out, there is such a thing as a drum brake rim and a disk brake rim. Back when these trucks were made was when GM was first selling disc brakes. Just because a previous owner got a set of 67-72 rims at the bone yard doesn't mean they'll fit if you have front discs. After 30+ years who know what you got for your truck. Look at the shoulder on the back of the rim that is hitting the rotor. Actually it hits the caliper. The "newer" disc brake rims don't have this shoulder. If it wasn't -11F I'd go next door with the digital camera and show you.
