K20 cab mount bracing with rotted cab mounts

I will need to install the braces to keep the integrity of the cab square before I remove it from the frame. Should I use the door hinges to the floor and the b pillar door lock to the floor as my reference and then left to right frame brace with a level on it to ensure it is square so I can pull it off the frame and leave at that to do the floor replacement ?
Love to hear what other methods have been used.

I'm in the process of replacing my entire floor right now. You can read about it in my thread. Below is a picture of my bracing. I went from inner door frame to inner door frame on both doors and then tied those braces together. I did that so I could put the doors back on and test fit with the braces still in place. I don't have it done yet, so I can't speak to the success of this bracing, but it doesn't appear to have moved.

Re: K20 cab mount bracing with rotted cab mounts

I watched all of MAYCO's videos. I completely forgot that I could use stationary interior spots to base my bracing.
Sucks getting old.
Next is figuring out the roof and a pillar to roof posts.

Re: K20 cab mount bracing with rotted cab mounts

Having difficulty posting pics and I get a error of SECURITY TOKEN.. What is that about ?
I intend to cut half way down the rear window and then see how long I have to cut the pillars.
I have the Eastwood Rust Encapsulator that has the long hose with the 360 degree spray tip and will shoot that down all 4 remaining mounts I need to weld the new roof on..The inner roof is complete toast so I kill 2 birds with one task
Floor and bottom kick panels have to be addressed. Being a K truck I have the high hump floor

I also intend to use the mesh protector on the cowl and I saw a few guys who added drain slots to the bottom A and B pillars and the rockers. Firewall is rust free.bottom of new floor gets Encapsulator and then scoffed with 220 and a few coats of base color . I may do the same with the bed

You need to resize you pictures to a smaller size before posting them.
