Decent finds at Fall Carlisle

Having some good finds here in Carlisle.

I bought
1963 Original Repair Manual. $20
1963 NOS steel grille still on primer no dings or dents. $60
3822765 NOS High Hump Floor Mat. Parts Book says 63-64 4spd. $40
2 NOS GM Fire Extinguisher Re-Charge Kits. $40

I've seen
5 Dinged and dented 63 steel headlight rings.
Lots of rear fenders.
61-63 1 ton chrome hubcaps 3 + 1 thinner with 8 7/8 ring calked into it. $125
19.5" steel wheels 3 for $100 guy wants them gone!
66 1 ton painted hubcap needs a lot of work $20
Deluxe steering wheel no ring or horn section $10
Deluxe steering wheel with ring and horn $150
Dealer take off fleetside tailgate $525 Very nice!
Rusted through fleetside tailgates $100 +

That in only 5 hours of walking. Pooped, should have trained before.

SCORE on the floormat, and those 19.5 wheels are a DEAL! I'd nab them in a second if I could.

Re: Decent finds at Fall Carlisle

Best deal I found on Thursday was a yummy straw berry smoothie that blue take off gate was pretty, plenty of deluxe steering wheels and plenty of 8 inch 6 lug rims. Did you see the rust free 64,5,6 cab, the floors and rockers didn't even have a pin hole in them but some bozo ripped the fuel tank brackets out.

Last time I checked, this vintage wheel company wanted $295.00 each for the 19.5 http://www.akhwheels.com/pages/showWheel.php?pk=317

I will have to see what a GMC or Chevrolet wheel look like from that era. I may have others still to clean up.

The floor mat is up for grabs. To nice for my ratty old plow truck.
I was hoping I had found an NOS Surburban Rear floormat for oem4me, even though he hates my truck, but alas it was not to be.lol

You crack me up Norm. Way cool to offer that floor mat find up to others in need. As for the Suburban middle mat, it's the thought that counts. Thanks!

I spent 2 or more hours talking to the present owner of the gorgeous 64 4WD.
More details tomorrow morning I'm wiped!

Re: Decent finds at Fall Carlisle

3822765 for Chevrolet 63 Ser. 10-20 (exc. FFC, 4 SPD HD ) 4WD,
............................... 63-65 C80-C980, M80-M980 ST WITH 409 V-8
3822765 for GMC G series 1835-6 FRONT.1001 W/SM318 TRANS
3822765 supersedes 2443234 10-66, so it was a replacement part in 1966 discontinued in the 1990 Parts History Catalog.

So for the pickups it was exclusive to 63. It is not punched out for the 4 speed, nor for the parking brake on a 20, nor the lever for the 4WD.
Sorry for the confusion.

$40 plus shipping to a needy 63 home.

Re: Decent finds at Fall Carlisle

I was fortunate / blessed enough to have had the company I drive for, organize a load so I could spend the weekend in Carlisle parked at the Flying J, hooked up to IdleAire. I'd like to share their good intentions with others by offering the spoils of the trip. Not everyone can afford to come here so I took it upon myself to pick up stuff that I think members can use.
Moderators though the items are not offered for free they are non profit. Hope this doesn't break any rules

I purchased the painted 1966 3/4-1 ton 8 7/8" inner diameter that needs work for $20. Anyone in need?

I also got the three Chrome 61-63 3/4-1 ton 8 7/8" ID hubcaps, dings and dents but driver quality, $75

Along with them came a 10 3/16" 1/2 ton cap that someone tried to caulk a 8 7/8" ring into. If I can get the ring out without any damage there's a set of 4 driver quality up for grabs + 1 cracked . $120 You can see the caulking and the joint at the 11 o'clock position.

Update: a trip to the dollar store for a utility knife and I was able to cut away the caulking and remove the ring without any damage to the cap or me! lol

End of the day bargain 2 painted 10 3/16 inner diameter caps (DQ) for $5, he said he just didn't want to load them in the trailer. Another one earlier in the day for $20 plus the one I already have makes a set of 4 for $50.

I did find another piece of literature, but then who cares about that. lmao.

Hey Norm, still got those '61-'63 3/4 ton caps? I'm wanting to put the correct caps on my '62. These would be nice. I also want to salvage some 8-7/8 rings for retrofitting to new '66 repro caps. Whatcha got?

Re: Decent finds at Fall Carlisle

There was a vendor with a white T shirt, with a picture of a white 60-66 Suburban and a 55 pickup in a driveway on it. I was wondering if he was a member here.

Re: Decent finds at Fall Carlisle

Now the partial story on the 64 K10.
60,000+ original miles.
H in the serial number indicates it was Cali built. What plant again factorystock?
The present owner was told it's from Oregon.
He assumes there was a camper unit on it that caused the surface rust on the back of the cab by leaves trapped between.
Original spare tire mount in the rear of the box.
Wood floor with traces of black paint on them.
Someone cut the tailgate with a torch in the form of a T below the stamped C.???? Why???
Rear bumper was repainted. You can see the rub marks on the rear tail light panels where original rubber seals would have been between the bumper and panel.
Plated inspected and registered in the state of Delaware.

Beautiful seat in this truck. Don't know if it's the correct vinyl, but wow.
Base model.
Accessories: Deluxe Heater, Locking Hubs, Warn Winch, Spare Tire Mount, Rear Bumper, Deluxe Gauge Instrument Panel, Day Night mirror someone installed, not original to the truck.
Custom made floor mat with aftermarket shifter boots and sill plates.
Windshield replaced with a new tinted upper section.
Warn Winch control panel by left knee under the dash.

Warn Winch with newly painted front bumper and 3 nub 15" wheels ( wheels should be black like the spare).
The grille letters were repainted with a brush and shaky hand.
Inner fenders in great condition, surface rust but not through and through.
292 with the original Oil Bath air cleaner replaced by a AC Paper Element.
Aftermarket Battery Cables and Tie Downs.
Super clean firewall though I assume someone washed it and removed the original crayon markings.
Under the truck is oil/grease free.No rust or rot anywhere. Just original, accept for the new General Radials

I sat and talked to the present owner for 2+ hours about this truck. There was always someone looking at it. Most scratching their heads trying to figure this one out. It worked in it's lifetime as revealed by the few dings and dents. It was taken care of though, not pampered.
One guy who stopped to look said he'd drive this for the winter to save his YJ from the salted winter roads. My jaw and testicles dropped!
The present owners name is John and his cell number is (302) 994-7626.

Re: Decent finds at Fall Carlisle

What was the guy looking to get for the 4x4? I can't believe the condition of that seat, it looks absolutely new! Really a swell gesture on the floor mat. I'd be all over it too, but admittedly for trading stock at this point. You rule!
