Need 8" lift pics

Starting a new project

Shortbed, one tons w/ 4.56, 6.0/4l80e (case???), frame up build

Thinking of putting a 8" lift on it and running somewhere around 37's to 40's

Would like some pics

To each his own, but I wouldn't go that big w/ that drivetrain. The 6.0 has some good torque but judging by the other rides in your sig, you may not be happy with the power turning that setup.

I have 37's on my '06 CTD Megacab Dodge and it was a noticeable difference.

Re: Need 8" lift pics

I am a little concerned about the lack of power might go with a 37". I am really wanting this build to be a driver. Something we can jump in and drive it 100 miles or so and not worry about it but still be show truck. Will probably go thru the motor and install a cam so I can get about 400 hp out of it. It's still early in the process. I wil change my mind at least a few hundred times. Input always welcome guys. Thanks.

Re: Need 8" lift pics

The K30 has 10" superlift with 38x14.50R16's KM2's on 16x10's. Actually......this one has 10" front springs, 6" rear springs with a 2" block. So the rear is only 8"

The shortbed I found online has a 8" with 37's

Re: Need 8" lift pics

Nice trucks. Really want pics of 67-72 though. Maybe I should decide on the exact tire wheel combo then fit the lift around that

Probably should find a frame first. Hahaha

Already have one tons and a 6.0 LS

Re: Need 8" lift pics

My 68, but I only 4" with 37s as I like them nice and stable. Plus, it fits in a 7' garage door with ease.

8" lift with 37x13.50. With 1" offset, still room for bigger tires.

Those are 18" wheels. 15" wheels or tires are becoming a thing of the past.

Re: Need 8" lift pics

I agree, I am running 17x12 on mine but would like to find some 18x 12 for this project. 20's can look ok but it is hit and miss in my opinion. Newer trucks OK but these old body stlye is tough. I put my 22''s on one day just to see and it looked awful. hahahaha

Re: Need 8" lift pics

I think anything bigger than 16.5 looks out of place on an older truck.

That's just my opinion of course.

Re: Need 8" lift pics

4 inch rear springs with a 4" shackle flip, 6" front springs with extended shackles, roughly about 8" all around. 40" ground hawgs on 1 tons.

Re: Need 8" lift pics

They didn't rub once I got everything setup the way I like.

I did have to slightly trim the front of the rear wheel wells (round the corner, maybe 1") and the fender cups up front are close but don't rub. All my flex comes from the rear axle, my front is pretty stiff due to supporting the Cummins.

I run 35" Duratracs in the winter (the Baja T/As suck on ice) and I ended up selling the surplus Baja T/A 37s on steelies last winter to insulate and finish my garage. I do plan on a new set of 37" treadwrights on 8 lug slots next spring.
