Cool All in the Family - My son carry's on TRADITION!!

My almost 19 year old son just bought his first truck last night! Mom is PO'd - three Chevy's at the house!! I'm as proud as a new Daddy!!

Everyone gets a virtual Cee-Gar!!

79 Silverado K10 Shortbed. 454/TH400/NP205, duals, 35 inch tires. Needs windshield, left front fender has some crust & the 85 LTD seat has to go!!

I don't think the 454 was factory. I haven't run the VIN though - kid won't let me near it yet.

The "EVIL DAD" part of me thinks, when he decides 6 mpg and $150 fill-ups are too much for a working student... I'll have a new truck!!

ORC10 -

The fun parts is his two best buds (brothers) are hardcore F**D guys! 3 Broncos, 4 Trucks and an Excursion. Now, he gets to join me in the arguments with these guys! I mean, he's legally bound to, now! Right?

Nothin but smiles here!!

That is a sweet first truck! He will sure enjoy that. Looks about how my '78 did when I got it 11 years ago.

You could get a 454 in a short bed 2wd, but I don't think so in a 4wd

Could you still get one in a 2wd in '79? I thought they phased those out before then. . .

Great looking truck! Go buy the little lady one and maybe she'll then understand why we do this...

72BB -

I tried that a couple times. She's 5' 3" and complains about the stock height K10.

Maybe she'd like a nice lowered 85 Silverado??? Hmmm?!?!?
