Check this out......

Came across this today.... I thought it was pretty cool... just wanted to share... apparently the guy made it from the 4x4 shortbed version of this model.. to match his real truck.

Re: Check this out......

I followed that build very closely. I am doing the same project, but backdating it to an '81. I just need an extra frame and an extra bed. I'm also looking for a Dodge Lil Red Express kit for the front suspension to do the 4x2 conversion to make my '81.

Re: Check this out......

Sure. Here you go. Its the 84 GMC kit that I'm backdating and correcting. Backdating the exterior and correcting the interior. The other guy didn't correct the dash, I did. I'm taking the 1/2 ton 4x4 shortbed and turning it into a 3/4 ton 4x2 longbed.

Re: Check this out......

I only need a handful of parts and a couple supplies to finish it, hopefully before someone offers to buy my truck.

Re: Check this out......

I've got an '81-'82 Chevy Stepside kit by MPC called "Sodbuster" that I'm turning into John Winchester's truck from "Supernatural".

Re: Check this out......

I know you were talking about your 87. I can experiment with body mods on the little ones to see how they'll look on the big one.

Maaaaaan... that's too kool!! I used to put models together back in the day.. but I can't seem to find that 84 kit anywhere... I've only seen the 84 4x4 one that has a step side. I see you have a fleetside bed... would love to get a hold of a kit like that... when and where did you get it? Thanks in advance

Re: Check this out......

You can find it on ebay. It the 1984 GMC kit. It's made by AMT and has a blue GMC on the box. If you can find one, it's also the same kit as the old MPC Fall Guy kit.
